There are a few questions that are often asked of me, so I thought I’d bring you a post to tell you the answers!

Q: What’s your favorite way to drink water?

A: Turn it into club soda and add vodka. Just kidding, I like my water out of a Berkey Water Filter, room temp in a big class! If I feel like getting fancy, I’ll chop up some lemon or add a few chunks of frozen fruit and/or some drops of Young Living Essential oils. Remember, drink half your weight in ounces of water per day.

Q: Do you take supplements?

A: You bet – two scoops of Vital Protein Collagen Peptides every damn day!!! Plus, two magnesium supplements at night: Mag Glycinate for muscle soreness and Mag Plex Ultra to help keep me regular. It seems like I’ve been on prenatal vitamins for almost three years; right now I’m also taking a Prenatal Complex with DHA and I’ll continue this while breastfeed. After I finish that journey, I’ll visit my Poop Dr. to reassess the situation and keep in tip-top shape! These supplements work for me, but please consult an expert to see what works for you.

Q: How often are you stretching?

A: Not enough! I have been trying to stretch more since my Chiropractor suggests it. As a personal trainer I know it prevents injury but, because I go from teaching group fitness to personal training back- to-back, I often neglect my tight, sore muscles until my next adjustment or massage. If there were more hours in a day I’d stretch more; just kidding, probably not … but I do think it’s important to stretch after every workout!

Q: Favorite form of self-care?

A: Here’s a post on all sorts of self-care I love! But my favorite is massage!

Q: What do you drink?

Right now, water, coffee, hot tea, ice tea and OJ. Once I’m not pregnant, get me back to water, coffee and cocktails … as in the form of vodka club sodas, wine, IPAs and, on special family occasions, brandy, Manhattans and martinis. In Mexico, give me margaritas… good ones, hand poured! If I want to really live it up, then it’s shots of Hornitos Tequila; thanks to my friend Sarah Gothman for getting me hooked!

Q: What’s your favorite cheat meal?

A: Cocktails!

Q: How do you get every thing done while balancing everything?

A: I don’t! But I do a really good job managing my time. I am 100% not a procrastinator and I’m filled with a lot of self-motivation. I make to-do lists and I use my Ruby-free time to the max! I have a hard copy planner, a journal, post-it notes, a calendar on my phone and babysitters lined up until next September. I prioritize my to-do list two ways: by time sensitivity and “what’s going to make me the most money.” That’s how shit gets done. Example: Halloween is coming =time sensitive, so I’m finishing costumes today so I can get other things done in the next two weeks besides figuring out what we will be. SIU’s Holiday Hustle registration makes me money, so I’ll post about this before writing a blog post.

The blog is on my to-do list, but I don’t yet get paid to blog, so it’s less of a priority. I also have to give Marcus tons of credit! We have a great partnership, and we allow each other time to get our shit done while making sure each other is filled up with our hobbies. We make it a priority to each do what we love while making time for what each of us find important in our relationship. We both office from home, we take “Ruby” shifts and know our responsibilities. Together we conquer, and by 4 p.m., our day is done and we can head to Happy Hour! I also wake up BRIGHT and EARLY to tackle it all! For more details about how I keep my energy up, read this! Some days I say “Fuck it!” and LIVE IT UP INSTEAD!!

Let’s do this again – keep the questions coming!
